As a youth I have learned a lot of the wrong lssons of life, growing up in Nashville, was hard on me because I had no positive images. I grew up in some of the of the worse parts of Nashville and was in a fatherless home; therefore, I follwed the images that were before me which were drug dealers, and street hustlers. These were the only images I saw which would eventually land me in prison.
Once there I realized I did not want to speend the rest of my life in prison or end up dead. So once release I knew I had to make some changes in my life. That's when I found Be a Helping Hand these people helped change my life around. I learned prositive things. I find that I feel better about myself when I'm doing something productive.
Thanks to Be a Helping Hand I'm now fully employeed by CME-Systems, Inc.
Sincerely,
Timothy Jordan

My name is Robert Drake and I share a little part of my life's testimony by God's love and grace. nineteen years of age I was locked up for resale (drug charge) and a life for life God showed me I would serve him every day of my life. While locked up the Lord instilled in me greatness of life.
I was released in 2000 although the glory of God was good to me being able to finda job was not easy. the Lord blessed me t meet Kelly Holmes through a program call Metro Action (Job Traning) not knowing much about me he asked me to come to the classes that he teaches at Be a Helping Hand. So, I went and I learned many trades as a young man that helped me as a man and a business man by leaps and bounds.
I overcame much in life even over my failures in life by which I was so much afraid. Now I work a Gazebo Apartments and still use the trades I learned from Be a Helping Hand Foundation.
With much appreciation,
Robert Drake

I am writing to express our support of Be a Helping Hand Foundation and their commitment to improving the lives of young men and women thru their job training program. We believe that Be a Helping Hand addresses the obstacles that many face due to lack of education. If not for the training program their standard of living would decrease; thus perpetuating the vicious cycle of underprivileged yound men and women.
With employees such as Stephen Willis, who is employed by us as electrician, we see firsthand the value of the job training program. Accordingly, as an employer we support funding from CCA to the initiative of Be a Helping Hand to provide training for underprivileged young men and women.

The problems that plague our community consist fo a high crime rate due to drug abuse, economic disenfranchisement and social degradation. The unemployment rate is at staggering proportions even before the recession became evident. Jobs that were once available to students with no college education or students who did not complete high school are much harder to come by due to new levels of competitors for these entry level positions.
As a disadvantaged minority owned electrical company we value organization like Be a Helping Hand to provide skilled entry level electricians. We currently employ Timoth Jordan who has worked with us for the past year and is a valued member of our team.
By providing funding to Be a Helping Hand you will provide companies like ourselves access to valuable and skilled employees.
